Maths at Woodstock

Maths at Woodstock

At Woodstock, we follow the White Rose Maths scheme of learning. We use their long term plans as a basis for the teaching of Maths for the year. At the bottom of the page you will find the long term plans for each year group, this will give you a more detailed overview of what your child will be learning in maths during a particular half term. See below links to the Woodstock Way for Maths as well as calculation policies from White Rose Maths for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

There are numerous links for parents and carers on the White Rose Maths website to support learning at home:

  • The home learning videos https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning show some of the objectives and learning we cover in class and can be accessed at home if your child needs more support in a particular area.

  • 1 minute maths app (suitable for EYFS and KS1) a range of tasks based on the 4 operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) to speed up children’s recall of arithmetic questions.

Timestable Rockstars (TTRS)

Timestable Rockstars is a website we use as a school to improve the fluent recall of timestable and division number facts. Every child in the school has a log in to access this at home and at school. For children in EYFS and KS1, it is recommended to use NumBots and begin to start using Timestable Rockstars from Year 2 onwards however, all children with a log in can access both.

Maths Celebration

Maths is celebrated during Monday Assemblies through achievements on Timestable Rockstars. There is a certificate and trophy for the class with the highest percentage active in the last 7 days. We also give certificates to the children who have the most correct answers in the last 7 days in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
